This is a very lovely song! It's a really good example i'd use to explain what you can do with the 2a03 since I feel it uses most of the features that capture what a memorable chiptune song has. Really good work.

This is a great loop and theme. I can feel the fun and the drama of the fight, its very lively and the melodies and leads are great. Every instrument shines on its own, and it loops really well. I love the little details like the bells and the choir synths, and the solos and riffs are amazing and sound like they are fun to play. I think you've nailed the boss fight feeling and you will certainly achieve higher levels of feels and hype once you put this in the game, regardless of how it looks and plays. Great song, keep the good stuff coming!

WarmanSteve responds:

Thanks man, glad you like it! I'm really excited to build a game around the music, we'll see how it turns out :P For this particular track I was trying to see how much mileage I could get out of my virtual guitar. Doesn't really sound anything like the real deal, but I like to think it has it's own unique sound!

Nice loop! Its catchy and fun and it has a nice pace! I think its a bit short, but it reminds me of Rare's N64 games and some of Grant's tunes. Good job!

WarmanSteve responds:

Thanks! This was basically a reverse engineering of the Super Mario 3D World OST :P

This is a good boss battle song. It has a good pace and it has a good boss battle stress feel to it. You can tell its a serious battle. I also think this is good because of the leading 8bit pulses, and I'm a sucker for elaborate melodies on pulse channels as they can easily convey the videogame feel. Personally I think the bass synths steal some punch from the song and hides the kicks after 00:23, and the drums get a little weak, not mentioning how short it is. But that's just me. Its still a good song, not too overwhelming and easy to loop, and you did a good job. I'd love to listen to a longer, more fleshed out version. After listening to some of your other uploads I think I can hear a nice reocurring melody in this. I'll scout you.

Blarrgensnorf responds:

Thank you so much! This is a very well structured comment and is very helpful. I do agree with the points you make, and will be sure to apply these ideas in the near future!
Thank you for the support~

I get a sort of comedic vibe related to the halloween theme. This song has a really good atmosphere as it is lively and not overwhelming after some loops, even a bit catchy. A 16-bit halloween themed game could easily profit from this. You did a really good job.

Its a shame you had to upload this until yesterday. Hopefully your toaster doesnt give you problems like those in the future.
Hope you had a nice Halloween as well!

tripledigit responds:

Thank you for the review!

Sounds like you perfectly picked up what I was putting down. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope your Halloween went well too!

I immediately felt the cold winter night. I can easily imagine the atmosphere and a nice story behind this melody. This is a really good song!

kcpm responds:

Thank you for the kind words!

I'm a sucker for this kind of guitar tones. This song sounds quite fun and enjoyable.

Nice song. Some parts reminded me of Tool. The tones are very powerful. I enjoyed it. Man, I wish I could buy a 7-string... \m/

Chthonic-Waves responds:

I love Tool so that pretty awesome. Glad you liked it. Once I got used to my 7 string there's no way i'm going back to a 6
